Typology: Regional Oriented Natural Reserve; established with L.R. 7 June 1993, n. 23.
The Vauda Regional Nature Reserve is part, together with the Sacro Monte di Belmonte Special Nature Reserve and the Pelati and Torre Cives Special Nature Reserve, the Canavese Parks and Natural Reserves. It occupies an area occupied by moorland and wetlands of a total of approximately 2,635 hectares, in the municipalities of Front, Lombardone, Nole, Rivarossa, San Carlo, San Francesco al Campo and Vauda Canavese.
Regional Natural Reserve of Vauda
The nature reserve is characterized by a large flat area dotted with ponds and ponds, with numerous lowlands and stagnant drainage streams that all recall the Baraggia of Vercelli as a whole. The vegetation is of the steppe type with a predominance of heather such as Calluna vulgaris and grasses such as Molinia. Among the birds, the lark, the quail, the greengrocer and the shriek are very common.
The archaeological aspect is also of considerable interest due to the presence of Lombard artefacts.
